YOUR RESEARCH
One of the best benefits of a major university is the opportunity to conduct research as an undergraduate student. Working one-on-one with a faculty mentor,
you can explore your interests through projects and experiments you design in the topic of your choice. Explore all the ways you can participate at ugresearch.umn.edu.
YOUR CLASSROOMS
When you choose the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, you will study at one of the country’s top public research universities. Your classes will feature state of the art technology and experiences:
• Music students practice and perform in the only all-Steinway school in the Big Ten.
• Physics students conduct research in the U of M’s underground neutrino lab in Northern Minnesota.
• Nursing students become future health professionals in the state-of-the-art Health Sciences Education Center.
• Journalism students use cutting-edge equipment in broadcast studios and editing labs.
• Agricultural and natural resources students utilize 160 acres of land, located on-campus, for ground- breaking crop, environment, and soil research.
YOUR ACADEMIC SUPPORT
TUTORING
The U of M offers tutoring support for over 250 subject areas including math, science, and writing. Tutoring helps students develop academic study skills and confidence needed to succeed in their courses.
ACADEMIC ADVISING
You will work closely with academic advisors throughout your time on campus. Whether you need help choosing courses, exploring study abroad options, or finding an internship - they are there for you!
CENTER FOR ACADEMIC PLANNING
AND EXPLORATION (CAPE)
Undecided on which major is right for you? CAPE is designed to help students explore their interests and make informed choices about their academic plan. For more information on all CAPE has to offer visit cape.umn.edu.
HONORS PROGRAM
The University Honors Program (UHP) provides enriched opportunities within each of the U of M freshman colleges, creating a program of shared passions, creative collaboration, and intellectual and cultural diversity.
There is no separate application for UHP. Admitted freshmen are considered based on their application for admission. Students admitted into the University Honors Program will be notified by the end of March 2024.
