In August we welcomed Dr. Kassandra Ford as the new
Curator of Fishes and Mollusks. Ford’s vast research interests
in both freshwater and tropical fishes will bring a breadth of
knowledge to both the classroom and the museum. She hopes
to take both the positive and negative experiences from her
career thus far to transform the experiences of her students
and diversify the field of science.
Dr. Angela Hornsby joined the Bell Museum team in October
as the Zoological Collections Manager. Her work over the
past 16 years has revolved around museum collections, and
her experience as a contributor, user, and curator has made
her passionate about collections care and biodiversity
data accessibility.
The Bell Museum hosted the second Collectors Day on November 4, 2023. This
special event welcomes anyone to apply to share their collection with the community.
From shells and rocks, to action figures and squishmallows, collectors of all ages filled
every corner of the museum sharing their passion for collecting!
