 Rock Mechanics Laboratory
 supported by the
Coleman Family Foundation
The laboratory was renovated thanks to a generous lead gift from the Coleman Family Foundation at the direction of H. Richard and Faith Coleman. Dick Coleman (BCE, 1973) earned his degree while working and going to school evenings and weekends. After graduation, Dick and his wife, Faith, relocated to Pittsburg, Kansas, where his engineering expertise was used to expand the family business, Miller’s Professional Imaging. The
company has grown to be the
largest professional photographic
imager in the US. In appreciation
for his education, the Coleman
Family Foundation supported the
renovation of the rock mechanics
laboratory to ensure that students
at the University of Minnesota
continue to have first-rate facilities.
WE GRATEFULLY ACKNOWLEDGE THE ALUMNI, FRIENDS, AND FACULTY WHOSE GENEROSITY CONTRIBUTED TO THE SUCCESS AND ENDURING LEGACY OF THIS LABORATORY.
