Community Engagement Scholars Program
Ryan Burgardt, Kinesiology, and Rebecca Pirko, Business and Marketing Education will receive the Community Engagement Scholars Program distinction.
The University of Minnesota award recognizes undergraduate students for outstanding community contributions. To be eligible, students enroll in the Community Engagement Scholars Program (CESP). As participants, students must complete at least eight credits of commu- nity-engaged learning coursework, at least 400 hours of community engagement, and six reflections. Scholars also complete an Integrative Community Engagement Project (ICEP) that results in the creation of a sustainable project for a community partner organization.
Academic Regalia
In 1895, the American Academic Costume Code standardized academic dress, including colors that denote fields of study. The color associated with education is light blue. Faculty regalia differs in the color of the robes and the hoods, based on the University from which they received their degree.
