THE ENTHUSIAST
BOB ROESLER : A DEDICATED DONOR AND ESTEEMED ALUMNI
Bob Roesler, an alumna and donor of the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) at the University of Minnesota, has left an incredible mark
on the field of agriculture education. With a career spanning decades, his journey from a high school instructor to a supporter of agricultural education is both inspiring and a testament of the university’s commitment to excellence.
Graduating from CFANS in the late 60s, Roesler embarked on a career as a high school instructor in agricultural education for 18 years. His dedication to nurturing the next generation of agricultural professionals extended beyond the classroom as
he transitioned into farm business management education, where he served for over 32 years before retiring.
Roesler’s ties to the University of Minnesota run deep, with both his education and
professional affiliations deeply rooted in
its programs. He actively participated in professional organizations such as the Minnesota Agricultural Education (MAAE) group and served on the National Council for Agricultural Education, including a tenure as its board chair. His commitment to excellence in agricultural education earned him recognition from both the university and the broader community. Beyond his professional endeavors,
Roesler and his wife, Marlene, have been supporters of the University of Minnesota’s Agricultural, Education, Communication and Marketing program. Through their generous contributions, they have supported scholarships that directly impact students pursuing careers in agriculture education. Their commitment to giving back
reflects their belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of supporting future generations of agricultural leaders.
As a mentor and advocate for agricultural education, Roesler has a message to current students:
“Take advantage of the wealth of opportunities available at CFANS. Seize every chance for learning and growth, and actively engage with the vibrant community
of alumni and professionals. Your time here is not just about earning a degree; it’s about building a network, fostering connections, and shaping your future in agriculture education and beyond.”
