The Campaign for the School of Dentistry
10 years of Driven. Success
Together, we raised $27 million for the School of Dentistry during the Driven. Campaign for the University of Minnesota. Lasting 10 years, from 2011 to 2021, the campaign supported students, advanced research and supported a transition to incorporate digital dentistry into our curriculum.

Connect with your classmates
As a gopher for life, we hope you will take every opportunity to remain connected with your classmates and other fellow alumni. Each year, we encourage you to return to campus in September for Alumni Weekend. This weekend-long event gives you the chance to see what has changed on campus, get to know current students, hear updates from school leadership and celebrate your and your classmates’ accomplishments.
During Alumni Weekend, you are invited to host or attend a class-specific reunion. You can contact the Office of Alumni Relations for more information and for support in coordinating this reunion effort.
If you would like to celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of a fellow alumnus, you can nominate
them for the Distinguished Alumni Award. These awards, given annually to a DDS and Dental Hygiene graduate, honor a graduate for their participation, service and leadership in the advancement of dentistry and dental health, as well
as their public service, community service, civic affairs and dedication to continuing education.
“Jim and I met in dental school at the U of M when he was a resident and I was in the DDS program. Now we are married, with four kids and a thriving practice in Golden Valley. When I was in dental school I received help from my parents as well as the Canadian government. I could
not have gotten through without that help. The University of Minnesota is a special place for us. We give each year to the cap and gown program to cover that final cost of students’ education. It feels
good to give something back.” Adena Borodkin, DDS ’04, MS ’06, Jim Miller, DDS ’01, MS ’04
“Alumni Weekend is a great excuse to come back to the school. I love environment and the camaraderie. Being back with old friends and with professors makes me appreciate what I had when I was here.” Naomi Lane, DDS ’09
