 International exchange programs
The Global Programs Unit at the School of Dentistry has a longstanding history of bilateral international exchange opportunities for DDS, dental hygiene and dental therapy students. Our partners range geographically from Guatemala to Norway, and we offer a wide variety of programs including virtual exchanges, in-person observerships and clinical based mission trips. Throughout your time at the School of Dentistry, you will have the option to participate with the various Global Programs initiatives. Our newest program, implemented in 2021, is a virtual exchange program that explores differences in treatment planning
and health systems and includes discussions of cultural norms, learning about primary language and emphasizes building collegial relationships among peers. The Director of Global Programs is Karin Quick, DDS, PhD, and she is supported by Mallory Hedquist from the Office of Student & Resident Affairs.
Student support services
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to student learning and success. Recognizing that dental programs are rigorous and thorough, we strive to help every student become a competent, knowledgeable lifelong learner and dental professional.
A variety of resources and support systems are in place to help students prioritize their wellness while engaging in their education.
The Office of Student and Resident Affairs supports students with academic and career counseling, academic support or tutoring, mental health and wellness, and programs and events. This expert team provides tutors and coaching through our academic success center, provides holistic wellness updates and resources and connects students to whatever aid they might need, including financial and academic support.
