During his years as Executive Director,
The Hormel Institute tripled in size in 2008, doubled in size again in 2016, adding a beautiful new lobby and the Ray Live Learning Center – a 250-person auditorium and event room. The number of faculty and staff doubled, from 60
to 140 and lab sections grew from five to 20. Thanks to support from The Hormel Foundation, University of Minnesota and the community,
an era of growth, expansion and collaboration resulted.
