   Dr. Clarke’s experience has him poised to lead the Institute’s next era of scientific advancement to further knowledge around the mechanisms of cancer development and
better ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer. He will
also continue his own research with his new lab “Cancer Systems Biology.” In addition to his role as Executive Director, Dr. Clarke holds a faculty appointment in the Department
of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics in the College of Science at the University of Minnesota. Also coming from Georgetown University to The Hormel Institute is Dr. Leena Hilakivi-Clarke who will be a new professor/ section leader leading the “Women’s Health” lab, researching diet and impact on health/cancer development.

                 IJ Holton Endowed Professorship
  The IJ Holton Endowed Professorship is distributed by The Hormel Institute UMN and came from a gift to The Hormel Foundation by former Hormel Foods President and CEO IJ Holton. The purpose of this professorship is to advance science at The Hormel Institute.
