Administration
Chelsey Lustig / Manager
The Administration Department
enhances the overall cohesiveness
of The Hormel Institute by creating
consistency in the services we offer
with a customer service focus. Over
the past year, we’ve transformed our
department from offering only purchas-
ing assistance, to now offering adminis-
trative support for all departments and
labs. Our goal for the future is to continue enhancing the support we give by specializing in the unique needs of each lab and department.
Finance
Tara Scott / Manager
The Finance Department provides financial support and guidance to all of The Hormel Institute’s departments. This year, we implemented new policies and procedures to ensure all department and lab leaders are up to date on their budgets and funding.
We are working to create new revenue streams and improve our processes
to allow us to make the most informed decisions possible, maintaining the financial health and future of the Institute.
  Chief of Staff
Elizabeth Fedie, MPNA
The operations departments at The Hormel Institute are essen- tial to the advancement of our institute’s mission through the many services, resources, and expertise they offer in support
of biomedical research and in sharing education and opportu- nities with the community. Our major goals include providing key services related to reducing research and financial adminis- tration burdens, following federal, state and UMN regulations, and running our numerous facilities operations to run seamlessly in
support of the research mission, further advancing the research capabilities of each lab and assisting them with their research pursuits.
During our 80th Anniversary year, we increased our focus on additional key activities in support of our mission through further engagement with our community. Several celebrations and service activities were done this year to open our doors and our research world to community members of all ages. We also provided new opportunities for education and disease prevention outreach as a way to give back to a community that has so strongly supported the Institute over the years.
As we look forward, the Institute’s future is bright and our employees who are leaders in their fields are ready to take us into our next chapter of success.
