Inclusive excellence entails the guiding principle of Purposeful Development to enhance student success, with mindful aware- ness of vast cultural differences as reflected in a welcoming community. The premise underlying Inclusive Excellence is centered on the word excellence. The idea is to embrace ex- cellence by broadening the scope via breaking barriers limiting access to opportunities.

To enhance these efforts, IBP faculty have initiated another exciting program focused on Inclusive Excellence principles in identifying UMN students at the very beginning of their careers. The UPRIME and INPUT programs (see story en- closed) have already been launched with the first group of young scholars in the program.
