  FACULTY PROMOTIONS - Hats off to thee!
Dr. Anthony Weinhaus was promoted to Associate Professor on June 20, 2022. Anthony received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota (1988) and Ph.D. from the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia (1995). Dr. Weinhaus is an outstanding scholar and a great asset to the IBP and the medical school. Dr. Weinhaus joined the department in 2004 and was selected as the Director of the Program in Human Anatomy in 2008. He has been teaching anatomy at UMN for over 26 years and has many contributions to the advancement of medical science, publications and his teaching is exceptional.

Dr. Mark Cook was promoted to Associate Professor on June 20, 2022. Mark received his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University (1986) and Ph.D. from Michigan State University (1992) and B.S. from California State University, Physical Therapy (1997). Dr. Cook joined the department in 2008 and has an extensive record of scholarship, stature and visibility in his field, an outstanding teaching record and awards, and great service to the Anatomy field and the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Hai-Bin Ruan was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure on June 20, 2022. Hai-Bin received his B.S. from Nanjing University (2003) and Ph.D. from Nanjing University (2008). Dr. Ruan joined the department in January of 2016. Dr. Ruan is a distinguished academic scientist, he has an extensive portfolio of peer- reviewed independent scholarship, he is an outstanding teacher and a great asset to IBP and to the medical school. Dr. Ruan has clearly established himself as an emerging top young scholar in the country and demonstrated an original “cutting edge” research agenda.

Dr. Alessandro Bartolomucci was promoted to Professor on June 20, 2022. Alessandro received his B.S. from the University of Parma, Italy (1999) and his Ph.D. from the University of Milano, Italy (2003). Dr. Bartolomucci joined the department in August of 2010, was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2016. Alessandro has an outstanding record of scholarship, a very high stature and visibility in his field, outstanding teaching and service, and is a distinguished academic scientist. He was selected as the recipient of the Fesler-Lampert Chair in Aging Studies in 2016-2017 and Ancel Keys Biomedical Scholar in Physiology and Metabolism in 2018. Alessandro also serves as the Director of the Physiology Core since 2015.
