Gopher GOLD is $ you can add to your U Card to make purchases on campus. The Gopher GOLD account is the University pre-paid declining balance account on the U Card - it is not a bank account.

Make Purchases All Over
You must have money in your account in order to make a purchase. Your balance
U Card!
will decline with each purchase you make. You can not overdraft. Balances roll over each semester/year. You can view your balance after a purchase
or online at gophergold.umn.edu.
Gopher gold is accepted all over campus
Your Gopher GOLD account is the only account on your U Card that is accepted throughout campus. You do not need to sign up for a Gopher GOLD account as it is already available on your U Card.
Gopher GOLD is the only way to pay for printing
Gopher GOLD is the only way to pay for printing at Print Labs, residence halls
and Libraries on campus. You will swipe your U Card, select your print job and the money will be deducted from your Gopher GOLD account.
Remember to use your account at least once every 12 months to avoid inactivity fees.
