CEREMONY DETAILS
The 2023 undergraduate conferral ceremony includes bachelor’s degree graduates from the College of Biological Sciences, College of Continuing and Professional Studies, College of Design, College of Education and Human Development, College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences, College of Liberal Arts, Carlson School of Management, and the College of Science and Engineering.
The ceremony is expected to last approximately two and a half hours and includes a procession of faculty, students, regents, and other guests. As a courtesy to the graduates and other guests, we ask that all guests refrain from talking and remain in their seats during the ceremony. Please silence all cell phones and other electronic devices.
Degrees are formally granted by a regent of the University of Minnesota at the end of the ceremony. After formally having their degrees conferred, undergraduate students will move their graduation cap tassels from right to left, ceremonially completing their degree.
