COMMITMENT TO
STUDENT SUCCESS
Graduating in four years is important—it lowers your costs and gets you a top-notch degree sooner, so you can explore the world, secure a job, be successful, and find your future.
The University of Minnesota’s commitment to your success is gaining attention. High retention rates,
low debt burden, and high graduate salaries earned us Forbes magazine’s “rising star college” title.
Did you know? Any credits you take over the 13-credit threshold are free of charge, so you can take a variety of courses without worrying about extra tuition costs (Students take 15-16 credits each semester to graduate on time.)
MINNESOTA DREAM ACT
Minnesota residents eligible for the Minnesota Dream
Act pay in-state tuition rates at the U of M, and are also considered for state financial aid and U of M scholarships. To learn more about the Minnesota Dream Act (also known as the Minnesota Prosperity Act), please visit z.umn.edu/MNDream or contact the Office of Admissions at 612-625-2008 or 1-800-752-1000.
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
The University of Minnesota Twin Cities has a number
of merit-based scholarships that are awarded to recognize students’ outstanding academic achievements. A complete listing of freshman merit scholarships can be found at z.umn.edu/AcademicScholarships.
Did you know? Last year, we awarded over $50 million in academic scholarships.
There is no separate application for most scholarships. Admitted freshmen are considered for scholarships based on their application for admission. Scholarships are very competitive. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of March 2023.
