INTERNATIONAL STUDENT INFORMATION
STUDENT PRE-ARRIVAL GUIDE
After you confirm your enrollment and submit your Undergraduate New Student I-20 Request form, you will receive a link to the online International Student Pre-Arrival Guide from International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Staff members from ISSS will assist you as you prepare to arrive on campus, and they will work with you after your arrival in Minnesota.
ORIENTATION
REQUIREMENTS
International Student Preparation Course
(Online)
Prior to arrival, all new international students are required to complete the International Student Preparation Course. This program is the first step in completing international student orientation and it will prepare you for your arrival. Visit isss.umn.edu/new to begin the course.
ISSS Check-In and Welcome Session
Complete your ISSS Check-in and Welcome Session as soon as possible after you arrive in the U.S.
There are two parts to this requirement. They must be completed in the following order:
> Step 1: Check-in with ISSS. Use the “ISSS Check-in and Welcome Session” form in MyISSS to submit your immigration documents and notify ISSS of your arrival. This is required by the U.S. government.
> Step 2: Complete an ISSS Welcome Session. Depending on your student status, you may complete this requirement in-person or online. Full details are available at z.umn.edu/ ISSSorientation.
