 Research. MWRF’s main mission
is to provide sustained funding for
UMN water research and to develop innovative research that will improve water treatment technologies and water quality in the environment.
Education. MWRF is a proponent
of industry education, believing that research should be applied in the field. The fund hosts regular educational events for students and professionals interested in the state of water. Last year’s event was virtual and highlighted the UMN Water Council, a new interdisciplinary team bringing together UMN scholars and resources to tackle
the pressing concern of access to clean water in the 21st Century.
Fundraising. Fundraising is vital
to the mission of the MWRF. To
date, the largest fundraising event supporting MWRF has been Give to the Max Day (November 17 this year), when Minnesotans come together
to donate to nonprofits and schools across the state. Moving forward,
the Advisory Council is working hard to establish permanent funding, and they are exploring partnership models to cultivate and incorporate industry support.

MWRF is actively seeking fellow visionaries to make the dream of long- term, ongoing water research a reality for Minnesota. You can contribute
to MWRF’s mission or to become a thought partner. Contact Bernie Bullert (bernie.bullert@sl-serco.com) or any member of the Advisory Committee. More information about the MWRF can be found online at https://cse.umn.edu/ cege/minnesota-water-research-fund.
Warren Distinguished Lecture Series
  Fall 2022
The Warren Lecture Series is made pos- sible by a generous, renewing gift given by Alice Warren Gaarden in 1961. Since 1989, the department has been bringing in accomplished researchers to share their work with students, faculty, and friends of CEGE.
We plan to host the 2022 fall lectures in person (unless otherwise noted) in the George J. Schroepfer Conference Theater, room 210 in the Civil Engineering Building on Fridays at 10:10 a.m.
Sessions will also be streamed.
