Diversity, equity, and inclusion continued from page 8
Inclusive Teaching
The Inclusive Teaching Committee of the DEI Working Group is planning the second annual faculty workshop for mid-August with topics ranging from inclusive graduate student advising to a review of mental health and other resources for students. In conjunction with CEMS Information Technology, the team is also working on a more standardized accommodation/extension tool for students who have recently experienced a traumatic event.
Mental Health Advocates
Four additional CEMS faculty members enrolled in mental health advocates training in Spring 2022, which brings the current total of CEMS Mental Health Advocates
to 11 (CEMS faculty: Turan Birol, Prodromos Daoutidis,
Cari Dutcher, Vivian Ferry, Ben Hackel, Kim Kosto, Alon McCormick, Matt Neurock, Qi Zhang and CEMS staff: Kacey Gregerson and Julie Prince).
Thanks to these contributors from the Working Group: Marisa Bazzi, John Dewey, Alon McCormick, Spencer Bingham, Dan McDonald.

Leadership Showcase Awards
CEMS undergraduate students Michelle Quan
(ChE, MS ’23), a recipient of the CEMS Legacy
of Excellence Scholarship, and Tatem Rios (ChE ’22), a prior recipient of the Ed and Cora Remus Scholarship, and CEMS postdoctoral scholar Dr. Anisha Veeren were honored among the recipients of the inaugural College of Science and Engineering (CSE) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Showcase awards. The awards were presented at
a March 30 recognition event highlighting the many campus contributions of individuals who actively contribute to a positive and more equitable College of Science and Engineering climate through diversity, equity, and inclusion events, programming, and volunteer work.
