NATALIE BECKENDORF Agricultural Communication & Marketing
Growing up on a hobby farm introduced me to agriculture, especially through my time in 4-H and FFA. These experiences ignited my passion for the industry and highlighted the importance of advocacy and leadership. I realized my passion was to share the story of agriculture, leading me to the AECM program at the University of Minnesota. Renowned for its quality, the program offers a diverse curriculum covering podcasting, videography, photography, design, and writing. Its hands-on approach provides real-world opportunities to apply these skills. I highly recommend the University of Minnesota’s ACM program for aspiring agricultural storytellers. It not only offers an excellent education but also fosters personal connections with professors. Here, you can shape your college experience while prioritizing your growth, making it stand out among other programs.

Agricultural Communication & Marketing
The ACM major has allowed me to study a little bit of everything with a focus on the food industry. I grew up
in a Twin Cities suburb where most people have little to no appreciation for agriculture. Although the agriculture industry is completely new to me, I have approached my education and professional work from a consumer perspective. Minnesota offers several notable agribusiness companies that
I am interested in working for in the future. My advice to students is if you’re not
from an agriculture background, but are interested in working for a food company in the future, such as General Mills or Land O’Lakes, check out the ACM major. The
U is a really big school, but the St. Paul campus has a small town feel and you truly feel the support of your classmates and professors.
