Through our primary online recruiting website, TalentLink, you have access to hundreds of job opportunities as well as thousands of national and international contacts. By frequently and efficiently using these tools, finding your next opportunity will be a smooth process.
TalentLink
TalentLink is the Carlson School’s exclusive online recruiting system and is a vital tool for your job search. From this website you can build a profile that allows you to apply for full-time jobs and internship opportunities. In addition, TalentLink also gives you access to workshops, company information sessions, and alumni and company contacts to help your career search
along the way.
TalentLink can be found at carlsonschool. umn.edu/TalentLink. You will need your X.500 and password to log in. Please contact the GBCC employer relations team at gbccinfo@umn.edu with questions about the system.
Components of TalentLink On Campus Recruiting
On-campus recruiting opportunities are available to current Carlson School students that are eligible for on-campus recruiting (OCR). Interviews typically begin in late September or early October and last throughout the year (except for breaks). Interviews take place in the GBCC's interview suite.
On-campus recruiting opportunities are coordinated using the following process:
1 Resume Submission Period:
Most on-campus interview schedules will open at 8:00 a.m. on
the first day of class each semester. When a schedule is in the Resume Submission Period, students are able to submit their resume and other application materials through TalentLink. When reviewing jobs linked to an on-campus interview schedule, be sure to note the Timeline for each schedule. The Timeline section will indicate when the Resume Submission Period closes, when the recruiter will be making interview selections, and, if you are selected to interview, when you may sign up for an available interview time.
2 Candidate Review and Selection Period:
During this time in the process, employers will review the application materials of all candidates who have applied and
indicate whom they would like to interview. Interview selections are made through TalentLink. If selected to interview, you will receive an email indicating whether you have been selected to interview, selected as an alternate, or declined.
Although TalentLink is programmed to send an automatic email to all candidates invited to interview, it is always best to log in to TalentLink and check your application status.
3 Interview Sign-Up Period:
If you have been selected to interview, you can sign up for any
available interview time during the Interview Sign-Up Period. Interview sign-ups are handled through TalentLink (although occasionally an interviewer may contact you directly with any special instructions).
4 Day of Interviews:
Interviews will take place in the GBCC's interview suite. Students
should check in at the GBCC lobby 10-15 minutes prior to their interview.
Job Postings:
Job postings are posted in TalentLink but are not linked to an on-campus interview schedule. These jobs are typically open to current Carlson School students as well as alumni. You will apply for the position through TalentLink, and, if selected, the company will contact you directly to schedule an interview. Job postings are available for up to 30 days.
Company Information Sessions:
These are opportunities to learn the ins-and-outs of a company and details on available positions. Sessions are usually an hour long and are led by multiple company representatives. RSVPs are required through TalentLink.
Graduate Business Career Center Workshops:
These workshops are a great way to strengthen your job search skills. Workshops are held throughout the year. Topics include networking, negotiation, and industry exploration.
