ME ALUMNAE EVENT RECAP
ME’s second annual alumnae event took place on January 26, 2022, and was a great success! ME alumnae from all over the world joined us, including two former classmates who reconnected after 25 years.
The event included a presentation from student group She is ME, a panel
of four alumnae,
and the opportunity
to network in small groups. Panelists shared their experiences as students and lessons learned over the course of their careers.
When discussing their career trajectories with the student attendees, panelist Ann Sheldon remembered a feeling of fulfillment at her graduation: “I was so proud to be a woman crossing the stage to receive my mechanical engineering degree.” Karen Steele delivered the following advice for young women pursuing mechanical engineering:
“Always remember that you deserve a seat at the table.”
