HealthPartners takes over sponsorship of Pediatric-EM fellowship based at Minneapolis Children’s; fellows
are now part of the Regions EM family.
     EMS Fellowship starts, under the direction of RJ Frascone, MD, with selection of EM grad, Aaron Burnett, MD (’10), as the first fellow.
Quality & Patient Safety Fellowship begins,
under the direction of Drew Zinkel, MD; EM grad, Kara Kim, MD (’11), is its first fellow.
Toxicology Fellowship expands to two fellows/year.
Emergency Medicine PA Residency starts under
the direction of Brad Hernandez, MD (’01) and
Ann Verhoeven PA-C with coordinator, Christie Eck.
Amy Walsh, MD, assumes the role of program director for the International Fellowship.
Aaron Burnett, MD (‘10), is named program director for the EMS Fellowship.
Joe Arms, MD, takes over as Fellowship director for Peds-EM.
Ultrasound Fellowship, under the direction of Michael Zwank, MD, RDMS, accepts its first fellow, Jessica Greupner, MD (’16).

   Sam Stellpflug, MD (’08), is appointed program director for the Med/Tox Fellowship, and Kristi Lamb starts
as coordinator.

Cullen Hegarty, MD (’01), is named program director. Dr. Hegarty, served as an assistant program director from 2004-2011, and associate program director from 2011-2013.
EMS Fellowship receives 3-year initial accreditation.
     International EM Fellowship, directed by Matt Morgan, MD (’05), accepts its first fellow, Amy Walsh, MD.

      Felix Ankel, MD, program director from 2001-2013, accepts the position of Vice President & Executive Director, Health Professional Education with the HealthPartners Institute.
’15 Pat Anderson retires after 15 years; Amy Koonce joins

Kara Seaton, MD, assumes the role of fellowship director for Peds-EM.
Michael Paddock, DO, takes over as medical director of the
PA Residency (renamed PA Fellowship in 2023).
Approval to expand
the residency is granted by the ACGME. The Class of 2021 matches 11 residents.

EMS Fellowship has its first ACGME site visit.
