   Amplifying a mentor’s legacy
1:1 match for gifts made by December 31 honors Professor Emeritus Chris Macosko.
Thanks to a generous friend of CEMS, all contributions to the Chris and Kathleen Macosko Fellowship made before December 31, 2023, will be matched dollar-for-dollar
up to $50,000. Contributions from alumni and friends
are helping to grow the Macosko Fellowship and time remains to double the impact of your support for the next generation of CEMS graduate students as they pursue their education and drive innovations in energy and sustainability, advanced manufacturing, and human health.
Dr. Sachin Velankar, Professor in the Department of Chemical & Petroleum Engineering, Swanson School
of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh, spent time
as a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Macosko. He shared what inspired him to make a gift and capitalize on the time-sensitive matching funds. “Chris has been
a wonderful mentor, not just when I was under his
direct supervision, but even after I left Minnesota. In
fact, he shared a video recording of his very last official classroom lecture (it was a course on colloids) which was so inspirational, that I shared it with my own class at the University of Pittsburgh.”
Alumni and friends whose companies match contributions can triple their gifts while making a meaningful difference in the lives of talented first-year graduate students.
