THE ENTHUSIAST
AECM STUDENT SPOTLIGHT :
    FRESHMAN: ABBY SCHLOUGH Agricultural Education
Growing up on my family’s dairy farm, I learned a lot about dedication, passion, and family. I have always been involved on the farm in every aspect you could think of. I was also very involved in 4-H and FFA. Throughout several years of youth in agriculture, I realized I had
a strong passion, love, and desire to pursue a career in agriculture. I enjoy getting to grow as an individual and want to give back to what has given me so much. In my experience, the University of Minnesota campus is beautiful with so much to offer. Finding my place in agriculture lead me to the St. Paul campus where I have found so much beauty and passion throughout it. I have really enjoyed getting to know my professors while exploring all the opportunities CFANS has to offer.
SOPHOMORE: NOAH ERICKSON Agricultural Education
My name is Noah Erickson and I grew
up in Morris, MN. I was involved in agriculture from a young age growing
up on my family’s corn and soybean farm. After graduation I chose to come to the University of Minnesota to pursue a degree in agricultural education. I wanted to come to the University of Minnesota because of the combination of city and rural life. Additionally living in the metro has given me so many opportunities to learn more about the agricultural industry after what happens on the farm. I chose to study agricultural education because of the impact my ag teachers had on
me. They inspired me to be my best and I hope to do the same. My favorite AECM classes have to be the shop classes with Mr. T. Not only were the class materials applicable to my career path but I can also to my real life.
