HEAR FROM TWO OF THE AECM AMBASSADORS:

I have loved the connections and interactions that I have been able to have while serving as an AECM ambassador. We have been able to give tours to high school students interested in studying AECM, hosted urban high
school students to share more about agriculture and
the potential career paths within AFNR, and help out
with various events that have given me opportunities to represent our AECM program here at the UMN to both FFA and 4H members.
I applied to be an AECM ambassador because being
a transfer student, I have been able to see another agricultural education program and have seen all of the great opportunities that we offer here at the UMN within our own AECM program. Being an ambassador, I love being able to share my own ag ed story with others, especially to potential gophers!
My favorite event was Teach Ag day in March. We were able to present our AECM program to 40 high school students, both in FFA or 4H organizations. All three institutions that offer ag ed in MN presented and it was great to see the students interacting with each other while learning about their own desires to become future agricultural educators and communicators. I loved being able to represent the UMN AECM program and share all of the great things that happen here on our campus within our AECM program!
