AECM AMBASSADORS
An exciting initiative within the Agricultural Education, Communication and Marketing (AECM) program at
the University of Minnesota aims to establish meaningful connections with prospective students. The AECM Ambassador program, spearheaded by Dr. Illana Livstrom and Dr. Laura Rice, is designed to amplify the creative outreach, engagement, and recruitment endeavors of the faculty and staff in this dynamic program.
THE MISSION
At the core of the AECM Ambassador program is a distinct mission – to actively support the recruitment efforts within the field of agricultural education, communication and marketing. Led by enthusiastic undergraduate students, these ambassadors play a pivotal role in connecting with potential students, offering insights,
and showcasing the unique opportunities available within the AECM program. The ambassadors will serve as dynamic advocates for AECM program.

Their ROLE
A key aspect of the AECM Ambassador program is the on-the-ground engagement facilitated by the ambassadors. The ambassadors are entrusted with connecting with individuals considering careers in agricultural education, communication
and marketing. Through on- campus and school site visits, these ambassadors serve as
the forefront representatives, sharing the achievements of current students, the trajectory of the program, and emphasizing it as the premier post-secondary education option.
Selected students
Selected based on their passion, communication skills, and commitment to the AECM programs, four outstanding students have been selected
as AECM Ambassadors. Rena Johnson, Karli Knopf, Amara Livingston, and Hally Frandrup, pictured above, embody the dedication and knowledge required to represent the program. Their voluntary service over the next several months reflects their
pride in the AECM program and eagerness to contribute to the recruitment of the next generation of AECM graduates.
