Illuminating Success Stories from UNIVERSIty of Minnesota AECM Graduates
In the expansive world of agriculture, Brittany Voss has emerged as a shining example of how a passion for agricultural education, combined with
the right opportunities, can lead to a successful
and inspiring career. Raised on a farm in Jackson, Minnesota, Brittany’s journey began with deep roots in agriculture, fostering a connection that eventually led her to the University of Minnesota.
Growing up in the southwest part of Minnesota, Brittany’s family was deeply involved in agriculture. From the family farm operations to active participation in 4-H and FFA, she found her early exposure to agriculture ignited a passion within her to support and promote agriculture as a career.
Her decision to attend the University of Minnesota was not just academic; it was a heartfelt connection. The vibrant atmosphere, the strong ties to the state as a land-grant university, and the diverse opportunities offered by the Twin Cities campuses resonated with Brittany. The university’s commitment to a small, connected school feeling on the St. Paul campus and exposure to a larger, metropolitan campus in Minneapolis perfectly encapsulated what she was seeking in her education.
During her time at the University of Minnesota, Brittany actively engaged in campus life. She was involved in Lambda Delta Phi sorority, where she seized the chance to participate in various campus events, including MN Royal, homecoming, and spring jam. Her participation in the Block and Bridle Club,
the MN Royal executive team, and serving as an Agriculture Ambassador showcased her commitment to a diverse and well-rounded college experience.
After completing her studies, Brittany entered the professional world, where her education and experiences at the University of Minnesota played a pivotal role. Over the years, she has held positions at CHS, and Exponent PR agency, gaining expertise in advertising, marketing, and corporate communications. Brittany currently works at Curious Plot in Minneapolis as a Group Account Director. Her journey reflects a seamless integration of agricultural knowledge with communications skills, showcasing the versatility of an agriculture education major.
Reflecting on her journey, Brittany acknowledges the influential role of her FFA advisors, Mr. Jeff Boss and Laura Bid, who supported her pursuit of leadership opportunities.
