AECM PROGRAM MINORS
FEATURE
The Agricultural Education, Communication and Marketing program works to prepare students for high-demand careers within the agricultural community through hands-
on classes, highly-applicable course material, and a collaborative and supportive professional community of students, professors, and alumni. Nearly a year ago the AECM program introduced both the Agricultural & Food Education (AFE) and the Agricultural and Environmental Science Communication (AESC) minors. These minors, combined with a CFANS major, prepare students to become effective educators and communicators in a variety of contexts related to communication, food, agriculture, and natural resources.
The Agricultural & Food Education (AFE) and the Agricultural
and Environmental Science Communication minors are super exciting new additions to our program. With our new course development and student opportunities in our program we saw a need and an interest among undergraduate students to offer these minors to compliment the various majors associated with food, agriculture and natural resources. We’re so excited to have more students enrolled in our courses and the knowledge, experiences, and perspective they bring to our classroom environment.

Agricultural and Environmental Science Communication Minor
“I chose to pursue the AESC minor in order to learn how to effectively communicate my passion for insects to the public. I enjoy public speaking and creating engaging graphics about insects and this minor has helped me become a better science communicator,” expresses Jaenalyn (right).
