University Honors (UH)
University Honors (UH) is a campus- wide program that brings together motivated students from all four colleges. Offering a small university environment within the larger university community, UH allows you to engage deeply in your education to set yourself apart after graduation. UH is not a program for elite students to do harder work in their major. Instead UH is designed to bring together a diverse group of students and encourage you all to learn broadly about human nature and society and to engage actively in your community and academics. This
is a program for students who value education and want to use that educa- tion to affect the world in which we live.
Relationship is key to the UH mission. University Honors helps students build relationships with faculty, professionals, staff, and organizers, as well as other honors students via shared courses, events, and the honors living/learning community in the residence halls. In addition to this community of support, UH students are supported with access to small, highly engaged class structures, up to a $5,000 study abroad scholarship, and priority registration for classes.
Study Abroad
UMD International Programs & Services houses the university’s study abroad and student exchange programs.
Study Abroad provides short-term, semester-long, and academic-year international learning experiences in support of UMD’s commitment to global engagement and internation- alization. Through these programs, students build new life skills and are better prepared for their roles and responsibilities as global citizens.
UMD provides innovative international learning experiences that expand and redefine the world for a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. Study Abroad offers a full range
of advising and support services to students throughout their experience.
