The Community Outreach and Education department focuses on three pillars: education, prevention, and wellness outreach. Its mission is to develop a compre- hensive education and training program for all ages and promote and participate in community-driven initiatives that help increase community engagement.

SURE INTERNSHIP
Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Interns
This summer, The Hormel Institute hosted 16 undergraduate students as part of the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Internship program. During the 10-week program, the interns worked alongside scientists, expanding their knowledge of basic research and gaining hands-on experience with equipment and techniques that are generally not available in undergraduate academic programs.
