 Department Head Update
The Emergency Department at Regions Hospital has spent 2022 focusing on building community through innovation, advancing health equity, evolving culture, and strengthening consumer affinity. Regions Hospital is part of HealthPartners, an award-winning integrated health care system.
Our faculty/staff continue to
be involved in our community
and committed to continuing
education to improve our
department. This year, two
emergency physicians and
our nursing director were
specifically recognized for their
contributions to the commu-
nity. Dr. Ashley TeKippe (’15)
is committed to improving the physical and mental health of young athletes in the performing arts community and was awarded
the 2022 Health and Wellbeing Award from the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST. Dr. Kari Haley co-hosts the award winning podcast Off the Charts: Examining the Health Equity Emergency. Through open dialogue and conversations, these two physicians are helping to expand the definition of healthy communities.
Jen Moberg, RN is our amazing emergency department nurse director. She was recognized by our community as the March of Dimes Heroes in Action Critical and Emergency Care award winner for her leadership in the community.
Residency program director, Dr. Cullen Hegarty (’01) is a national and international leader in emergency medicine education. This year Dr. Hegarty’s contributions were recognized in a promotion to Professor by the University of Minnesota Department of Emergency Medicine.
We are proud to welcome Dr. Emily Wagner and Dr. Allie Schick to our Regions Emergency Department Faculty this year. Dr. Wagner
is dual boarded in Pediatrics/EM and Dr. Schick has completed her critical care fellowship/EM and is essential to advancing innovation in emergency resuscitation medicine at Regions. In addition to our new faculty, we have an incredible team of clinicians leading in emergency quality and patient safety, toxicology, emergency services, operations, and education.
We look forward to serving our community 24/7/365.
