Consider pre-internship opportunities or volunteer work in analytics area Begin to engage with professional contacts and connections in your network

FALL RECRUITING
Attend employer information sessions, site visits and networking events; on-campus interviewing; search TalentLink for opportunities (note that most MSBA recruiting takes place in spring semester but recruiting occurs year round).

ESTABLISH YOUR BRAND
Build target company list
Identify your strengths/ competitive edge, explore desired skills and experience for your industry, incorporate selling points into your resume, cover letters, and LinkedIn profile. Starting early in the fall semester, research analytics career paths, identify roles/ industries of interest, generate company lists, and complete informational interviews with alumni and professionals.

BUILD PRODUCTIVE NETWORKS Attend relevant events and workshops
Contact alumni, personal contacts, etc. to learn about opportunities, and conduct company research.
JUNE – JULY
AUGUST
Attend Career Essentials (June)
Attend Career Exploration Conference and network with alumni
Begin building your social media presence
Network with companies that hire international candidates
Consider talking with a coach about fall career fairs, especially for those students with relevant work experience
Begin to refine career targets and hone in on companies of interest
Network with new Carlson contacts to learn about opportunities and practice telling your story
SEPTEMBER Update resume and LinkedIn profile with summer Analytics Lab experience Attend Resumania! event or see a coach for resume review
OCTOBER
Attend required interview prep workshops
If interested in consulting, start preparing for case interviews
Check TalentLink regularly for fall recruiting opportunities and submit your resume
Attend Small Group Interview Practice session or meet with a coach to practice STAR stories
NOVEMBER Meet with a career coach about winter break plans and next steps
Engage in regular informational interviews with other program students, Carlson
alumni, and referrals
Consider registering for the MSBA West Coast trek
