Student Records
Student Records Privacy
Your educational record is protected information. UMD, in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), provides student rights including the ability to stop the release of directory information. Go to myu. umn.edu and select the My Info tab for more information.
Parent/Guest Access to Your Student Information
You may grant access to view your student information to your parent(s) and others. Your parent or guest will be able to view your account information online and speak with a One Stop counselor regarding the information
to which you grant them access. They will also be able to make payments on your behalf. Your parent or guest must complete their part of the authorization process online. (see How To Guide link in the quick reference guide on page 26, or visit onestop.d.umn.edu/personal- information/parentguest-access)
Student Employment On-campus Student Employment
Whether you work on- or off-campus, employment expands your social and professional networks, develops your skill and knowledge base, and helps you learn to manage your time more efficiently. Your hard work and dependability will lead to an additional employment reference.
The starting wage on campus is $15.00/hour - campus departments understand student life and will do their best to accommodate your schedule. And on-campus work is close to your classes.
Were you awarded Work-Study? Be aware that Work-Study can be utilized in any on-campus job.

Student Health
Insurance Benefits
You are required by the UMN to have health plan coverage. You will be automatically enrolled in the University- sponsored Student Health Benefit Plan. The waiver for the next term becomes available 2 months prior to the start of the semster
You may choose to waive the Benefit Plan by providing proof of enrollment in an alternative eligible health plan. Visit shb.umn.edu/students-and- scholars/shbp-waiver for more information on waiving student health benefits.
