Why UMD Stores for your course materials? We work directly with our faculty to source their correct required materials for each class, at a competitive price. We always have the correct edition, plus additional items like online access codes, lab manuals, workbooks, etc.
Students are more successful when they have all of their books and materials on the first day of class.
Introducing Course Works:
Ready for day one access to your
course materials? The University of Minnesota System campus bookstores and libraries will launch the Course Works program in fall 2024 to increase access, price predictability, and convenience for degree-seeking undergraduate students.
How it Works:
• Beforethestartofthefallandspring semester, all degree-seeking undergrad- uate students are enrolled in Course Works Complete. This offers students the opportunity to explore the program benefits and decide on their preferred level of participation. Course Works Complete provides students with all required digital and printed materials for one flat-rate of $279 per semester.
• Ifastudentchoosestooptoutofthe Course Works Complete, they move into Course Works Select, where they can choose, course-by-course, which materials they want to source through Course Works and which, if any, they want to source themselves. Each
item assigned in a course will have its pre-negotiated price clearly displayed so students can make the best choice for themselves.
• Atanytimebeforetheadd/dropdatea student may choose to opt out
of the program entirely and purchase their materials on their own through the campus bookstore or in another manner.
Library and open educational resources materials are always availablefor free to all students, regardless of participation.
How to Find Your List of Course Materials:
1 . Use your class list in your MyU account. Go to myu.umn.edu and log in with your UMD ID.
2. Select the ‘Academics’ tab, and your class schedule will appear in the ‘My Classes’ tab.
3. Click on the Textbooks-UMD link near the top in the My Enrollment bar. This link automatically imports all of your course information, making finding your materials quick and easy.
4. When reserving laptops, art kits, or additional materials for in-store pickup during Welcome Week or purchasing online, click “Add to Cart” for each item.Afterfillingyourshopping
