ADVISEMENT & REGISTRATION
The mission of Bulldog Orientation, Advisement & Registration (OAR) is to facilitate the successful transition of new students to UMD, to prepare students for academic, inter- and intrapersonal opportunities and responsibilities, and to promote student learning, development, and success.
Orientation
This is where you will meet fellow students, learn about UMD’s collegiate units, financial aid, housing & dining, how to get involved, and hear from academic advisors on how to prepare for your Advisement and Registration. Freshmen are required to attend the in-person portion of OAR.
Advisement & Registration
This is when you will meet virtually with your academic advisor to help you choose and register for your fall classes and solidify your schedule. This typically takes place within a week of your Orientation day.
Orientation Leaders
You’ll meet Orientation Leaders during your Orientation experience. They are current students who love to help new Bulldogs get started on the right foot. They are available for questions, support, and guidance throughout your Orientation experience.
TheDish Webinar Series
This series of webinars will provide you with virtual live opportunities to learn about what it’s like to be a student at UMD, find out how you can prepare for life at UMD over the summer, and ask questions about what YOU want to know. See more and register at z.umn.edu/thedish.
