  Horseless horse
The horseless horse project is designed for 4-H’ers that do not currently own or lease a horse. Horse ownership is not required to participate in 4-H horse activities.
Horticulture
(flower gardening, indoor gardening, landscape design)
Dig deeper into the science behind growing flowers, fairy gardens, indoor plants or ornamental plants and grasses. Design your flower garden and landscaping around your home or community space.
Industrial technology
(shop, metal work, woodworking)
Develop skills workers use, such as measuring, squaring and cutting materials, sanding, drilling and welding. Use tools to build a project of your choice.
Mechanical science
(auto/marine, small engines, tractor)
Learn about safety, fuels, maintenance, restoration and operation of tractors, small engines, machinery, automotive and marine engines and components.
Needle arts
Learn the basics of knitting, crocheting, embroidery, counted cross stitch and other needle arts. Study various patterns or create your own designs.
Performing arts
Develop and present performances through acting, mime, movement, puppetry and technical theater. Learn acting techniques and improvisation, costume and set design, makeup techniques and technical stage lighting and sound. Write a musical, sing or play
an instrument.
Pets
(cat, dog, pets)
Which pets fit into your family? Learn about cats, dogs and a variety of small pets such as birds, guinea pigs, iguanas, snakes or frogs. Understand how to keep your animal safe, healthy and active. Interested in training your dog? Check out the dog project in animal science, too!
Photography
Tell your story using photography! Learn about equipment basics, taking sharper pictures, lighting and flash techniques, photo composition, approaches, sequencing and evaluating photographs. Use multiple cameras and even assemble a whole production team.
