Emergency Medicine Residency 2024 Annual Report 15Alumni spotlight Class of 2004Kelly Rhone, MDHow well do you think Regions prepared your for your career in Emergency Medicine? I felt very prepared coming out of residency, especially for critical patients. There is so much you bring with you from Regions, and I think I heard Dr. Knopp and Dr. Quaday in my head every time I set up for an airway for years! Thank you!Tell us about your pathway to being so involved in telemedicine, and about your current role as CMO for Avel eCare? When I started tele-emergency shifts, I was so struck with how impactful it was caring for critical patients and supporting our rural colleagues.I loved innovation projects (like Regions Tele-Burn program) and my admin role continued to grow. I became CMO in 2022 and now oversee 8 separate service lines, including eER where I still work shifts. Any other fun updates from post residency life you%u2019d like to share? Jeff and I are empty nesters! Abbey is 23 and was a research intern at Regions while she was at the U of M and my son, Landon, is a junior at the University of South Dakota.
