Living on Campus
Welcome to your new home away from home! UMD Housing & Residence Life strives to support you in your personal and academic journey while living on campus. Research shows that students who live on campus are more academi- cally successful and are more engaged in college life.
Built-in support systems
Living Learning Communities (LLCs)
are communities on campus that have students of similar interests or majors living in the same area and taking classes together. Our current LLCs
are BizDogs (LSBE Students) Honors (Honors Program Students), Sustainability, World Languages & Cultures and Pride & Grace. Express your interest in LLCs on your Housing Application.
Resident Advisors (RAs) are undergrad- uate student staff members within each community who serve as a resource to students and provide opportunities to build relationships among residents.
Residence Directors (RDs) are full-time employees who coordinate community development, respond to student needs and concerns, connect students to campus resources, and supervise a team of RAs.
Housing Assignments
Students who meet the June 1, 2024 housing application deadline will select their room assignments after the July 4th holiday. This communication will be sent to your UMD email and will include instructions on how to select your room.

Move-in for new students will occur August 21 & 22. You will schedule an on-line appointment for your move in the beginning of August. Communication will be sent to your UMD email.
