Office of Diversity
& Inclusion
The Office of Diversity & Inclusion collaborates with students, staff,
faculty, alumnx, and community partners to implement programs and services that support the University’s commitment to inclusivity, equity, and social justice.
The following programs and services are part of the ODI:
Cultural Outreach & Retention Effort
The Cultural Outreach & Retention Effort (CORE) supports Black/African American, Asian/Pacific American, and Latinx/Chicanx students. The staff assist in guiding students to the proper resources and advocating for each student when necessary. CORE houses mentoring, tutoring, and the student ambassadors services.
Sexuality & Gender Equity Initiatives
Sexuality & Gender Equity Initiatives works to empower UMD’s queer and trans+ students in their academic and personal endeavors, and to equip aspiring allies with vital skills to support queer and trans+/gender non-conform- ing individuals.
International Student Services
International Student Services (ISS) assists international students in success- fully accomplishing their academic and personal goals through services such
as academic, immigration, and personal advising, mentor programs, cultural activities, and a variety of other programs.

Women’s Resource & Action Center
The Women’s Resource and Action Center programs and services include campus outreach, educational services, and nursing parents room. WRAC
also has trained PAVSA sexual assault advocates on campus who provide free and confidential services.
Multicultural Center
The Multicultural Center offers a number of different resources and ways for students to get involved. It is both a place to gather and a forum for the educational, political, social, and cultural issues that are important to the students, faculty, staff, and the greater community. The Multicultural Center houses 12 student organizations.
Office of Disability Resources
The Office of Disability Resources provides resources, support, and services to facilitate equal access on UMD’s campus. Staff work with students with disabilities to identify barriers and, in collaboration with faculty and staff, determine reasonable accommodations to reduce them.
